Loux The Vintage Guru

BY Zodwa Kumalo-Valentine

If you can’t find the clothes you want, make your own. That’s the wardrobe philosophy of former auditor turned fashion designer and stylist Lourens Loux Gebhardt aka Loux The Vintage Guru. Using his Tumblr and Instagram profiles to launch the Loux the Vintage Guru brand, the 33-year-old vintage clothes collector has become known as the stylish eye behind some of the most hip cats in Namibia. “My inspiration comes from my late grandfather and father – dandy men always dressed in suits,” he says.

Loux, who has been featured in Elle and Vogue, is currently collaborating with Khumbula, a group of young Johannesburg based creatives and plans to enhance his experience and knowledge by exploring the South African, Kenyan, German and Italian fashion industries. We’ll definitely be following him with keen interest.
