The launch of this content platform, poised to be an e-style boutique and consultancy, is the realisation of founding owner Wendy Tlou’s dream to move the African continent into the global collective consciousness. “I’m tired of seeing Africa relegated to small corners, made to seem insignificant and ugly,” she says.
With the upcoming relaunch of the platform in April 2020, ChicAfricans will be reinvesting in curators who will scour the continent for Africa’s finest, most up-and-coming and interesting products to showcase, from art and literature to fashion, design, accessories and lifestyle products, as well as inspiring African voices and stories.
